If one can have the opportunity to visit Dushanbe he should go to the Gallery located in the longest and beautiful A.Rudaki avenue shadowed by green trees and bushes (close to tea house Rokhat). Hospitable Tajik people cordially meets guests, it has much to show to the guests and has much to be proud of.
Visitors of the Gallery have very pleasant impressions because it is filled with the aura of original culture of Tajik people. Here one can see the works of experienced masters of Tajik fine arts of various types and genres, ancient art kundalya – special relief painting, art chitgara – hand-made sewing of ready elements of ornaments with multiple variants of harmonic compositions with tracery image on the cloth. Traditions of Tajik aboriginal people can be also seen in various types of folk art - syuzane (i.e. embroidered with a needle), jewellery and ceramic goods, children’s toys made of clay. A special attention should be paid to the national female clothes – e.g., a dress with long and loose sleeves ornamented with multicolor embroidery, head-dresses – scull-caps (tyubeteyka) with special aboriginal ornaments, knitted goods, a complex of jewellery: head and necklaces, such as necklace “Zira” made of silver, coral necklaces with drops made of silver; “Gushvori kafasi” and “Halka” – earrings made of silver and corals; “Kashtumor” – necklace made of silver, and necklaces made of semi-precious stones of mountainous Pamir.
In the Gallery one can also find the unique decorative and applied art that had existed in high antiquity – i.e. cloth coloring by batik technology (French – “printed”). Panels. curtains, clothes accessories made by batik technology are extremely picturesque, artistically ornamented and are very interesting with regard to their composition, they reflect the highly developed sense of color and form with the creating mistress.
The living source of the national art in the Gallery is of great success among visitors of Dushanbe. It represents the real masterpieces that demonstrate beauty and joy to the people.
